Latin American Artists

Rufino Tamayo - Painting

He was born in Oaxaca, Mexico in 1899 and died in his native country in 1992. His work addresses issues such as the human figure, animals and the cosmos, and has had several stages that ended with a colorful synthesis of forms.

Santiago Cárdenas

Santiago Cárdenas (Bogotá, Colombia, 1937) studied art at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) BFA 1960, United States, and obtained an MFA degree from Yale University in 1964. 

Tomas Sanchez - Landscape: Oil painting

Cuban artist. Was born on May 22, 1948 in Aguada de Pasajeros, Las Villas, Cuba. In 1964 he studied at the San Alejandro School of Plastic Arts in Havana, Cuba, and later at the National School of Art in Havana.

Víctor Gómez, cuban painter

(1941-) Artist and printmaker of Cuban origin residing in Miami. From 1963 to 1967, Víctor studied at the prestigious San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts, in Havana.

Wifredo Lam - Painting

Cuban painter Lam's work reconciled European Vanguardism with the artistic traditions of Latin America and the powerful ‘mystique’ of African and oceanic art, fusing human, animal, and plant beings.
