Héctor Poleo
He was born in Caracas in 1918. In 1930 it entered the Academy of Beautiful Arts. Attracted by the muralist experience it started off for Mexico in 1938. Along with Pedro Leon Castro and Caesar Rengifo will bring to the Country a social image of the man and the landscape. In 1947 it received two important prizes: the painting official in VIII the official hall Venezuelan art and Premio-Beca Guggenheim in New York. He participated in 1953 in the Biennial of Sao Paulo and 1954 in the Biennial of Venice, international confrontations to which would return to go in successive editing’s. He also made numerous exhibitions in the Country and the outside that have been worth him a great projection abroad. He is represented in the gallery of National art, Central University of Venezuela, Museum of Modern Art of New York, Museum of Contemporary Art of Latin America and the Caribbean de Washington DC, Museum of Art of San Francisco, Museum of Art of Indianapolis, National Gallery of Art of Canada, Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá, National Museum of Beautiful Arts of Santiago of Chile, National Museum of Havana, Gallery the International of Modern Art of Venice, and the Museum of Tel Aviv of Israel, between many other institutions.
