Jesús María de las Casas - Painting: Landscape

Jesús María de las Casas was born in Caracas in the year of 1854. he studied painting and engineering in Paris and also made painting courses in Germany. Approximately in the year of 1874 his friendship with Martín Tovar and Tovar begins.

Jesús Soto - Kinetic sculpture

Jesús Rafael Soto was born in Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela. In his teens he worked as a commercial artist, painting posters for local movie theaters. He later entered the Escuela de Artes Plasticas in Caracas, where he met Carlos Cruz-Diez and Alejandro Otero.

Joaquín Caicedo - Painting

He was born in Guaira, Distrito Federal, in 1915. He was a student of Marcos Castillo, Rafael Ramón González, Francisco Narváez and Luis Alfredo López Méndez

Jorge Chacón - Oil painting

Painter. Born in San Cristobal, Tachira State, on September 5 1933. Died in Cagua, Aragua State in 1992. Former assistant of the drawing, painting and composition free courses at the ‘taller libre de arte’ and at the Escuela de Artes Plasticas Cristobal Rojas in Caracas.

José Antonio Dávila - Oil painting

Born in New York on January 13, 1935. In 1941 he moved with his family to Caracas. In 1950, abandoning the school, enters the Free Art Workshop begins as a realistic painter of social, folk and urban.

José Luis “Chuchi” Sánchez - Painter

Juan de Jesús Izquierdo - Painting

J.J. Izquierdo was born in Caracas the 6 of May of 1876. He passed away in this same city the 14 of January of 1952. He is represented in the Museum of Beautiful Arts, exposed in the First Hall the Circle of Beautiful Arts in 1913.

Juan Vicente Fabbiani - Couple: Oil painting

Painter. Born in Panaquire, Miranda state, in June 15, 1910 studied at the Academia de Bellas Artes, which became The Escuela de Artes Plásticas in 1936. Here, he worked as professor and later became his director.

Julio César Briceño

Sculptor. Between 1956 and 1968 he lived in France, where he developed his first notions about sculpture and wood carving, together with the master cabinetmaker Pierre Morel (Pierrefonds, France).
